THE CATTLE OWNER

My cattle my pride

the year is falling old

and the green turn grey

the stream’s ice cold

 bay of rivers

Fulani says; my cattle my pride

In the same way we understood

When it rain and harmmatan

For this one has speech

On our lips and feet

Fulani says; my cattle my pride

I can hear the songs of the wind

Still the cattle must graze

Chew me, suck on my poor skin

But remember my tail

Remember the flog

Fulani says; my cattle my pride

In danger, my stick and knife

In hunger, udder suffers

O’er the hills, many miles

Here the wind bit all

Fulani says; my cattle my pride.

Happy flocks chewing cud

The day is nothing is like this night

Fulani say; my cattle my pride
